No More Excuses!!!

Most times I consider myself a pretty chill lady. I’m not the tough love type. I usually go with the flow. Here’s the issue with having that sort of character. It means I struggle with planning and often come up with excuses. And to make myself feel better about not doing what I’m supposed to do regarding my health, I use the excuse of ” I will just go with the flow. It’s not a big deal.”

I am not in anyway condoning beating up on oneself BUT I am calling us all out.

Why the heck have we not been doing everything in our power to bring our bodies into alignment with God’s Word?

Why can we sit and watch a one hour TV show, but can’t devote to working out for 15 minute HIIT or 30 minutes cardio?

Why do we keep buying the soda, junk food, fast food, or even trigger foods when we know they do nothing to aide us in our weight release goals????

Here’s the thing–this program helps us seek the Lord and find the reasons why we self-sabotage our goals whether it’s false identites, core fears, etc.

The issue I am having is: I have clung to and received all of this and yet I have not made the simple decision ‘to apply it’.

The fact is: my body is not going to get toned ONLY because I learned the reason I binge eat. It’s going to get toned because I learned the reason I binge eat AND ‘applied’ tactics to prevent binge eating, SUCH AS, prayer, meal prep, and working out.

What I am getting at is this: We must STOP making all of these excuses for ourselves.

I have been in this program for over three months now and I have been losing the same 4 lbs. That is not because of the program. This program is a Godsend. It’s because I haven’t made the decision to be serious about my health. It’s because I still make up excuses as to why I can’t get my butt moving; why I can’t meal prep; why I can’t use the great information Cathy has blessed me with.

Ladies, it’s time we stop with the excuses and the blame game. The devil didn’t make me eat that whole cake. My mama may have taught me to cook but I don’t have to use her same methods. My husband bought the pizza but I didn’t have to have a slice. I was really hungry and all that was available was McDonalds but I could’ve chosen a small salad and fruit parfait. I didn’t need the supersized Big Mac meal. We are responsible for our health. Only us. So it’s time we stop the crap excuses and be real with God and ourselves about our health.

P.S This was all said in love my dear sisters. I am not making light of anyone’s situation, but because I love you all so much, and I love myself, as well, I felt that some of us may need a little kick in the bum to get moving.

NO MATTER WHAT SEASON YOU ARE IN, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO TO WORK TOWARDS YOUR GOAL.

Praying none was offended and that you all heard my heart.

Love you all ❤️

I start off being consistent, but excuses always creep in, consistency going by the way side quickly. Gladys, you are absolutely correct the Lord is my source, as I consistently seek His help throughout this weight problem issue He will show up. I have been exercising and not eating after seven, 11 days consistently, praise God!

Thank you for these words!!! I needed to hear this truth. I have made constant excuses and need to stop. It is time to put to practice what I have learned. Knowledge is useless without application. God is good!!!

Thank you for No More Excuses. I can’t and making excuses are powerful decisions or choices we make. The decision to come out of agreement with excuses that sabotage our plans for a healthier lifelong lifestyle is even more powerful, with God’s help. We can do all things through Christ who gives us the strength. So we get up, repent, and turn the corner we need to turn as we make life giving decisions that will help us to live more effectively the abundant life Jesus promised, as we trust in Him and do our part.

I felt as if Gladys could read my mind. Most of what she says is so true. I keep gaining and losing the same lbs but not because I don’t know what to do. It’s because I don’t always apply the principles I have learned. Thanks Cathy for sharing this.
