Scripture Reflection

“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. “But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Phil 3:13-14

Closing Prayer for Week 2 – SMART Goal Setting

Dear Lord, You love me! You love me no matter what, and I am letting that sink in. So many years I have condemned myself because of my weight and health issues, at times I even ignore them and try to wish them away. But you are showing me how to get to a healthy weight and I can only do it through your strength. Thank you for showing me how to set realistic, time bound goals that will keep me focused on a healthy and balanced way to reach my healthy weight. Lord, help me to keep my focus on my own journey and not get discouraged if others around me seem to be doing better than I am. You have a perfect plan for me and I embrace it and trust you to carry it through to completion! In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Spend some time in prayer today and reflect on this past week. What changes are you starting to notice as the Holy Spirit works in you.Why is it important to God that you achieve your health goal?

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. “But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Phil 3:13-14
