Scripture Reflection

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ Matt 25:21

“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed–not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence–continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.”  Phil 2:12

Haven started at the end. The program started by having you look at where you want to be. It then outlined a path for you to get there.

The next few weeks following that gave you a change to understand what adjustments you may need to make in your life in order to arrive at your goal.

 

 

1. Week 1 – Write your Vision

Have you ever thought about what your life would look when you achieve your healthy weight? Most of us have not really thought about it. We know we want to lose weight it but sometimes seems so unattainable that we’ve refused to allow ourselves to dream. For this exercise,write out in great detail what you life will be like when you finally achieve your healthy weight as well as why it’s important to you.

 

2. Week 2- SMART Goal Setting 

To plot your journey, we’re going to borrow and adapt a model from the business world known as the S.M.A.R.T.  principle for goal setting.It stands for: SPECIFIC, MEASURABLE, ATTAINABLE, REALISTIC AND RELEVANT, AND TIME SENSITIVE. For this exercise, you will write out your specific weight releasing goal.

3. Week 3: Understanding your Priorities

While our goals will vary from person to person, the one constant every Christian woman (and man) should strive for is to centre our lives around our Heavenly Father. This choice determines what we value, what we think, what we do, what we feel and who we are. For this exercise you will share your priorities.

4. Week 4- Understanding your Values

When you can align your health with your values, being healthy is not work, effort or something to dread.  As you remain aligned, in time, being healthy will become a natural extension of who you are as a woman of God. But first you must understand what your core values are. For this exercise, you will share your values by completing the values assessment.

5.  Week 5- Life Balance

God has equipped us with an amazing capacity as women to steward many things. However,  when we’re juggling a lot of balls in the air, our lives can get out of balance and we often resort to food to make us feel better and use it as an escape from the areas of our lives that leave us feeling discontented. For this exercise, you will complete the life balance wheel.

Opening Prayer for Week 11 – Haven in Review

Dear Lord, thank you for another week in Haven! We have come so far since day 1. Thank you for blessing Cathy with a vision and that she is faithfully sharing the wisdom you have given her! Lord, I pray that I would continue to refine the goals and vision you have given me. Holy Spirit, help me come into complete alignment with who I am in Christ. I seek to remain true to my values and create a more balanced life in you and through you. Your word says in Matt 25:21, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’. I want to hear you say that to me, Lord! May I be faithful in all that you give me, especially my health and wellness. My body is your temple and I am glorifying you in it day by day! In your name I pray, amen!
