Scripture Reflection

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ Matt 25:21

“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed–not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence–continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.”  Phil 2:12

Last week, we reviewed a series of tools designed to help you crystallize your goal. This week we will review the fears, beliefs and identities that subconsciously sabotage  the very goals you’re trying to achieve. As you review this section, pray for grace, wisdom and understanding so that you can be patient with yourself as you understand the process of change. It can often feel like one step forward and two steps back  so give yourself lots of love and trust the process.

 Week 8- False Identities

God has created us all with inherent qualities, gifts and talents. These gifts shape how we view life, how we relate to others, and how we impact the world. We delight when we are operating in our gifts, and when used properly, they are a blessing to others.

Unfortunately, when misapplied, our unique gifts and personalities can also hinder us from living the abundant life Christ died for us to live. This can occur as a result of 3 factors:  A) Trauma from childhood events; B) Worldly influences; C) Satan.

In this session we learned how a variety of false identities can negatively impact our thoughts, actions and decisions. We looked at how the servant can manifest as a people-pleaser; the organizer into a control freak, the diligent into a perfectionist, the teacher into a know-it-all and the expressive into a drama queen.

For today,

Review your limiting beliefs you identified in Week 8 . Are you more conscious of noticing when you’re operating in your false identity? How are you reacting differently when you notice your false identity taking over.
