You Shall Have What You Say. I Say, “It’s FriYay!”

Happy Friday, Sisters!

I trust your week was blessed! It’s FriYAY! 😀🤣

I say “FriYAY,” not because I’m glad it’s the weekend, but because I’m committed to making every day a “YAYday.” That’s especially important during these uncertain times. I believe you shall have what you say. Because of that, I’m committed to rejoicing in the Lord and saying lots of “yays! “I’m learning that my words and attitude have power. I can use them to speak life or death.

Power of Thoughts and Words

I was reminded of these truths this week as I’m re-reading, Switch on Your Brain by Dr. Caroline Leaf. It’s on my annual read list. A book makes that list when I want to refresh myself on its principles often. It reminds me of the power of our thoughts and words. Whenever we speak life over ourselves and our circumstances, we are actually rewiring our brain. We are creating new healthier neural pathways.

You can always keep learning, growing, and changing. Don’t buy into the old lies, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks,” or “that’s just the way I am.” It’s never too late, and you’re never too old. You can still achieve your health goals as well as everything else the Lord has laid on your heart to do. The secret is, it starts by paying attention to how you think and what you say.

If you spend a lot of time worrying and ruminating about your circumstances, I have good news for you– you know how to pray! It requires the same amount of mental energy and brainpower, except one will cause brain-damage (literally) while the other will strengthen, develop and enrich your mind. The latter will allow you to be more at peace and enter into God’s rest regardless of what’s going on around you.

Turn Your Worry into Prayer

Turn your worry into prayer by inviting God into what you’re going through and then telling Him that you are trusting Him to work things out.

You shall have what you say. I encourage you to stand on this scripture as you head into your weekend, paying attention to how you talk to and about yourself and your circumstances.

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:24.

Weekend Challenge: 

Notice how many times you say, “I can’t.”

“It’s too hard.”

“I know, but…”

“I should…”

Through prayer, I encourage you to change the narrative.
