Healthy by Design Beliefs

Overeating is not a sin, but the effects of it separate us from God and therefore should be treated as sin.

The only way to break free from the bondage of overeating and an unhealthy lifestyle is by receiving God’s grace.

We Embrace These 5 Principles

1.  Identification - Good health is your identity, not your destination. Genesis 1:27

Believe that you are created to be in good health, it's who you are, not something that you keep striving for.

2.  Revelation - Information without revelation won't lead to transformation. Romans 8:5 & 12:2

The tools you need for success are found in partnering with the Holy Spirit, not in the latest diet.

3.  Ternion - Good health involves a combination of healing your body, soul, and spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Diet and exercise alone won't lead to lasting change; neither will trying to pray the fat away or positive thinking. Believe in a 3-part approach to health and weight loss.

4.  Submission - Transformation comes through daily submission. 2 Corinthians 10:5 & Luke 9:23

The process of change requires daily submission to the power of the Holy Spirit. Daily consistent, spirit-inspired action is key to change.

5.  Action - You must move past the natural resistance from contemplation to action. James 1:22 & 2:26

Yes, there will be roadblocks. Yes, there will be setbacks. Yes, you will get frustrated and want to quit. It's part of the process. Learning how to 'lean-in' to the resistance is key to your Breakthrough.

Healthy by Design Statement of Faith

We believe in one omnipotent God who is the creator of all things.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was born through the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary to restore the relationship between God and man and to rescue the lost and hurting of this world. To do this, He suffered, died, was buried, and on the third day, he miraculously rose and ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father.

We believe the Bible is the authentic, inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God written by God's people. People who decide to live for God must study and commit to living its values and principles each and every day—following Christ’s example and doing their best to glorify God with their bodies (Romans 12:2).

We believe in the Holy Trinity—The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit as our helper to guide us through spiritual rebirth and transformation. He guides us in all of God's truths.

We believe we are all sinners saved by grace alone. "Salvation is being saved from the righteous judgment of God upon the sinner. Salvation is obtained by grace alone, through faith alone, in the work of Christ alone (John 3:16) and not by our good works (Romans 3:20; Ephesians 2:8-9). We are chosen for salvation by God (2 Thessalonians 2:13)." All sin, no matter how big or small separates us from God and no matter how hard we try, we can not keep ourselves from sinning. Only God can cleanse our sins and forgive us of all unrighteousness.
