If there’s something that you’re frustrated with-be it your weight or another area of your life, you might need to hit the reset button and do something dramatically different to give yourself a kick in the seat of the pants.

I don’t support quick fix weight loss programs like Dr. Bernstein but I think there are times when you need to take some drastic measures. If you’ve ‘fallen of the wagon’ and can’t see how you can possibly get up again then it might be time to RESET
My client was away for 1 month and came back almost 10 pounds heavier! Needless to say, she was discouraged, frustrated and disappointed in herself. She was not even sure how it happened-one thing lead to another and 10 pounds later….. To interrupt this cycle, she had to hit the reset button and we put her on a very low carbohydrate diet just to get her back on track and increase her exercise program from 3x per week to daily.

I don’t recommend (low carb eating) this for a long period of time but for the psychological boost and to interrupt her out-of-control cycle, we had to do something drastic.

Within a matter of one week, she started to release the excess weight and start to feel better about herself again. We also spent some time talking about why she let herself get so out of control and put some tools in place to make sure that it does not happen again. Here’s what we discussed:

The next time she travels, she will:

  • Be accountable :Send me her food records each week
  • Get Disciplined: Follow a regimented meal plan
  • Keep active: Join a gym while she’s away

If there’s something that you’re frustrated with-be it your weight or another area of your life, you might need to hit the reset button and do something dramatically different to give yourself a kick in the seat of the pants.

Then take some time to understand what circumstances lead you to ‘losing control’. What steps will you put in place to make sure it does not happen again? This might not be the last time it happens to you or to my client but in every situation there is something new to learn about yourself and grow.

There’s a blessing in every lesson!

Until Next Week,
